Google Opens Ananta
The new Bengaluru campus is one of the Tech company's largest globally

One of Google’s largest campuses globally just opened.
And it not only showcases the Tech company’s latest stance on workplace design, but the continuing importance of India as a tech hub.
“Ananta”, meaning ‘infinite’ or ‘limitless’ in Sanskrit, is a 1.6 million sqft large purpose-built campus for over 5,000 employees and located in “India’s Silicon Valley” Bengaluru. Home to every tech organisation you could think of, real estate and Bengaluru’s renown tech parks play a crucial role in securing the right talent. A vital fact for Google India and its tech teams focused on cloud, search, payment, maps and particularly DeepMind.
Here are 4 key takeaways:
1️⃣ People-centric design:
Ananta is designed to connect people, following a city-grid and neighborhood approach to foster collaboration while also providing spaces for focused work.
2️⃣ Collaboration:
At the heart of the campus is “Sabha,” a multi-purpose town hall and collaboration space designed to bring Googlers together.
3️⃣ Well-being & Inclusivity
The campus features extensive greenery and walking paths inspired by Bengaluru’s reputation as a ‘garden city,’ allowing teams to recharge and unwind. Thoughtful material choices and supporting features maximize accessibility for everyone, including the visually impaired.
4️⃣ Sustainability
Ananta recycles 100% of its wastewater and harvests rainwater. It also features a smart glass facade to reduce energy consumption and was constructed almost entirely with locally sourced materials.
Corporate Real Estate is not only the physical representation of your company’s culture and values, but a sign of value for your employees. With the ongoing “AI wars” and India’s pivotal role in innovation for multinational businesses, Google and Ananta's site lead have clearly understood the importance of this task.
