India's Tech Boom: A Closer Look at Bengaluru's Startup Ecosystem

Personal learnings and a German magazine's (Brand Eins) article series on India

What do you know about India? Just in time of the world's most populous country's gain in popularity and achievements, the German magazine brand eins started a series of articles (see here) in cooperation with Indian journalists to share various insights on India's ongoing rise.

The second article is about Bengaluru, 'India's Silicon Valley', and covers three successful local start-ups: Zerodha , iD Fresh Food (India) Pvt. Ltd. and Zomentum . For over 2 years, I had the opportunity to work closely on a project in Bengaluru from scratch and visit the city several times. I can absolutely testify some of the attributes mentioned in the article and would like to add the following:

💻 Extremely high density of tech teams across all types of businesses

👩‍💻 Talent rich region with people moving from all over India

💼 Very hard working, entrepreneurial and ambitious people

🏗 Infrastructure and city developments on every corner

🏢 Very high quality Tech parks and private developments

Of course, my impressions are of high privilege and shouldn't be considered in isolation.

Challenges exist, but are known, openly discussed and actively challenged for improvement. I've been very grateful for my experience and close collaborations with my internal & external local team members and see a great future for India and its people!
